Distinct for its "Tortue" shaped case, reference 5040 self-winding perpetual calendar wristwatch was introduced by Patek Philippe in 1992. Production lasted until 2007 with an estimate of 3,350 total examples produced in all four metals. This present example was one of the very early production models recognisable for the super sought after Breguet numerals and Breguet hands. Cased in 18k yellow gold, the present 5040 is preserved in exceptional conditions, accompanied by its original Patek Philippe leather folder, original papers and booklets.
