Introduced in the mid 1930’s, the 2508 belongs to the group of chronographs made by Rolex long time before the Daytona era of the 1960’s, that’s yet to be immensly appreciated, for instance ref. 6034, ref. 3525 the remarkable “Barilotto”, and the gorgeous square ref. 3529. The Daytona is Rolex’s most lucrative watch ever produced which still holds the title today as the most desired Rolex; consequently taking away the attention from the company’s finest and most luxurious chronographs made in the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s.
Retailed by Cravanzola Roma. It features its original black dial with a graceful patina, gold arabic numerals indexes, gold leaf hands, gold telemeter scale, and double signed swiss dial inlcuding both “Swiss Made” and “Fab suisse”. The watch measures an oversize 37.2 mm and dates back to the end of the 1930’s. Accompanied by its original 18k yellow gold elastic oyster bracelet, this 2508 is the watch for the keen vintage collector.
